Diagnostic
Diagnostics
Data basis for your optimal rehabilitation process

Precision that makes progress measurable is a prerequisite for successful therapy. That is why we start every successful rehabilitation program with a comprehensive initial assessment, in which we holistically record your current performance level and any deficits. A central component of this is biomechanical testing, which we use to precisely analyze movement patterns, strength ratios, and functional capacities. The data obtained serves as the basis for our criteria-based rehabilitation. Each rehabilitation plan is therefore individually tailored to your athletic goals, your medical findings, and your personal resilience. Your progress is closely monitored with regular follow-up checks, ensuring that each phase of your rehabilitation takes place at the right time - well-founded, data-based, and goal-oriented.

01
Physiotherapy diagnosis

Physiotherapy diagnosis involves a comprehensive assessment, in which we work together to examine your symptoms, your life situation, and your goals. This is based on the biopsychosocial model, which views the human being as a whole, taking into account physical, mental, and social factors. On this basis, we develop an individual treatment plan that may include both active and passive measures. The aim is to provide you with the best possible support on your journey back to health.

02
Biomechanical diagnostics

Our biomechanical analyses form the basis for load-adjusted, criteria-based rehabilitation. We use state-of-the-art measurement technology to collect objective data that goes beyond subjective assessments. We use:

  • Isometric and isokinetic testing for differentiated strength analysis of individual muscle groups: These provide valid data on maximum strength, strength progression, and muscular imbalances.
  • Jump diagnostics (counter movement jump, drop jump, etc.) to evaluate explosive strength, leg strength distribution, and neuromuscular control.
  • Back-in-action test battery, a standardized procedure for recommending a return to sport: It includes coordinative, reactive, and strength-related assessments and tests functionality in a sport-specific context.

This data enables criteria-based planning of the rehabilitation process, individually tailored to the performance level and objectives - whether for competitive athletes, ambitious amateur athletes, or patients after prosthetic fitting.

03
Sports medicine performance diagnostics

Knowledge of individual stress management is crucial for targeted training during and after rehabilitation. With the help of sports medicine performance diagnostics, we collect the physiological parameters that define your endurance performance. We use the following methods:

  • Spiroergometry (respiratory gas analysis under load) to determine VO₂max, anaerobic threshold, and heart rate zones.
  • Lactate testing for targeted training control and assessment of metabolic stress tolerance
  • ECG-supported stress diagnostics to ensure cardiovascular function

Based on these values, we create customized training plans that are both performance-enhancing and rehabilitation-oriented. Your body sets the direction—we provide the scientific basis for sustainable performance development.

Where rehabilitation meets athletics: the path back to the top!
At Comeback Lodge, training is not just about exercise: it is about targeted, structured development work that systematically leads back to resilience after an injury or operation. Our approach is based on an effective combination of rehabilitation and athletic training, tailored to individual goals and requirements. Immediately after surgery, the focus is initially on safely rebuilding tissue resilience. At the same time, healthy structures are maintained and strengthened through targeted training. For ambitious athletes, the next phase begins after early rehabilitation: the road back to full athletic performance.

Targeted regeneration for body and mind
At Comeback Lodge, therapeutic massage is much more than a classic massage. It is a central component of our holistic therapy concept, tailored to the individual needs of top athletes, ambitious amateur athletes, and patients who have undergone joint replacement surgery. Therapeutic massage techniques are used to relieve pain, release muscle tension, and improve blood circulation. Through targeted manual techniques, we promote tissue regeneration, support the healing process after surgery, and contribute significantly to restoring mobility and resilience.

What our patients say

„The rehabilitation period at Sporttherapie Huber und Mair was really intense. I spent a lot of time there last year—first because of my cruciate ligament rupture and then because of my slipped disc. I always felt incredibly comfortable there; it's totally informal and really friendly. What was particularly great for me was how close everything was: you sleep on the first floor and can go straight downstairs for therapy. You can even lie down for a bit in between if you have a busy day – it's just super convenient. I felt really well looked after. Of course, I hope I won't need rehab anymore, but I was incredibly happy with my time there. It was also a very interesting experience for me.”

Marco Schwarz
Austrian ski racer

„At the Huber&Mair sports therapy center, you are greeted warmly at reception and given comprehensive information as a new patient. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and impresses with its well-thought-out organization down to the last detail. The care provided by physiotherapists, massage therapists, and sports scientists is of the highest professional standard. The friendly atmosphere is particularly noteworthy: you immediately feel welcome and receive competent support at all times, even after your therapy.“

Jean-Marie Loredana

„The best thing about the Comeback Lodge for me was the short distances, which meant I could really take breaks between sessions. It only took me a minute to get to my apartment. Since I had a long journey and was staying for a while, it was the perfect solution. I also really liked that the place didn't feel like a hospital room at all. You really feel at home at the Comeback Lodge – and that was super valuable for my long stay.“

Jonas Schelker
Swiss handball player

„The best start for the fastest way back! Excellent care, tailored precisely to individual needs! A week of rehabilitation that is sure to give you a month's head start in your recovery. Competent, warm, helpful, and humorous—an atmosphere that helps you progress both physically and mentally!“

Dominik Rauchberger

This is what your daily routine at the Comeback Lodge could look like

Your individual morning routine

Start your day with your own morning routine. If you don't have one yet, we will be happy to help you develop one that suits you.

Physiotherapy

Based on a structured assessment, we work with you to specifically address existing movement restrictions, muscular imbalances, and neuromuscular deficits. This involves a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, and functional movement training. Technical aids such as VR glasses or Blace Pods are available to improve your motor learning ability.

Surface electromyography (EMG)

EMG allows for an objective analysis of your muscle activation during isolated and functional movement patterns. Targeted biofeedback training reactivates inactive muscles and corrects asymmetrical movement strategies - an essential foundation for efficient motor relearning.

Underwater therapy

Underwater therapy uses the physical properties of water for targeted relief and functional mobilization after surgery or injury. The reduced joint pressure allows you to perform movements at an early stage and train neuromuscular control more effectively. At the same time, the water resistance offers ideal conditions for measured muscle strengthening, balance training, and gait training in a safe, joint-friendly environment.

Lunch break

You have the option of having a freshly prepared, balanced meal delivered directly to the lodge (lunch box) or preparing a good lunch yourself in the apartment kitchen. While you eat or relax, you can benefit from either Game Ready cold therapy or electrical muscle stimulation with Compex. This allows you to regenerate and promote the success of your therapy at the same time.

Lymphatic drainage

Relax while your therapist stimulates your lymphatic vessels with gentle, rhythmic movements. This technique helps to reduce swelling, relieve tissue and support the healing process. This is a particularly beneficial form of therapy after surgery.

Medical training therapy

In training therapy, you work on special equipment or with your own body weight - under the guidance and supervision of your therapist. You specifically train strength, coordination, and mobility, depending on where you are in your rehabilitation process. Each training plan is individually tailored to you and regularly adjusted.

BFRT

Special cuffs are placed on your arm or leg, which restrict blood flow for a short time and create metabolic stress in the body. This allows you to set a strong training stimulus with very little weight – comparable to classic strength training. This method is particularly suitable for people with limited mobility after surgery to prevent muscle loss or promote muscle growth.

After work

Enjoy your apartment as a place of retreat in the evening and start your evening routine. Cook yourself something tasty and use Game Ready for cold compression treatment. This allows your body to regenerate optimally and get you ready for the next day.

A washing machine and dryer are also available to all residents.

If you change your mind or something comes up, please let us know at least 2 weeks before arrival for a free cancellation.
